In an effort to learn how to paint with oils, I have been doing a series of small, almost-daily paintings. The subjects are mostly painted from direct observation over the course of one hour. The paintings vary in size, but in general they are about six by eight inches. The earlier ones were painted on gessoed illustration board, which is cardboard-backed paper; and the more recent ones are painted on gessoed masonite, which is a rigid wood-pulp board.
Most of these paintings are available for purchase. Click here for more info.
